FASHION enthusiasts were treated to an eyegasmic exhibition, which celebrated unique fashion designs at the second edition of the Icansi Fest, held at the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) in Bulawayo last week.

The event featured an impressive array of designers who showcased their latest collections on the runway.

The models wowed the audience as they strutted majestically onto the stage, resplendent in exquisite outfits by renowned designers that include Musa Seleman’s Urban Fusion, Ncoma Style Lab by Ncominkosi Sibanda, Nolie B and Penelope Creations.

The models’ choreography was expertly handled by Royce Gavi who is the reigning Mister Tourism Zimbabwe, as he brought his signature flair and energy to the event.

In line with the event’s theme, guests were dressed to impress in all-white attire with a touch of African flair.

Prizes were awarded for the best-dressed male and female, adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening.

From stunning evening gowns to bold and eclectic streetwear, the outfits on display were a testament to the creativity and talent of the designers.

“We are thrilled to have provided a platform for local designers to showcase their talents and creativity.

“The Icansi Fashion Fest Second Edition was a resounding success, and we look forward to continuing to promote and celebrate Zimbabwean fashion,” said Penelope Lacha, who is the co-founder of Icansi Fashion Fest.

The event also had a profound impact on the attendees, particularly the models.

“I’m inspired to attend such events as they empower me as a rural model. I learnt a lot from the experience and I’m grateful for the opportunity.

“I will implement some of the things I witnessed here to further my career,” said Nyasha Marazi who is Miss Rural Zimbabwe for Matabeleland South.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo director Silenkosi Mpofu, Ward 17 Councillor Sikhulekile Moyo who stood in for the Bulawayo Mayor David Coltart, Chief Dakamela, Phil as well as Sipho Mazibuko.

Their presence added depth, glamour, and excitement, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
