THREE armed robbers raided a home in Pumula North suburb where they attacked a woman before force-marching her younger brother to the bedroom where they allegedly took US$145, R700, $6000 and two cellphones.
The incident happened on Sunday last week shortly after 8pm.
A relative who declined to be named said the robbers were armed with a machete, an okapi knife and a rope.
They got into the living room through an unlocked door and found the pair watching TV.
“One of the robbers slapped her and thrashed her with a rope. They warned her not to scream as they demanded money while threatening to kill her if she did not surrender cash to them,” said the relative.
Fearing for her life she instructed her younger brother to show them where her money was.
“Her younger brother led them to the bedroom and they took US$145, R700, $6000 and two cellphones,” said the family member.
On the same day the woman reported the incident to the police.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident and appealed for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
“We are appealing for information that may lead to the whereabouts of the three suspects who are wanted for unlawful entry and robbery. Anyone with information may contact any nearest police station or call us on 029-60358,” he said.
