A 29-YEAR-OLD man from Bulawayo assaulted a commercial sex worker following a misunderstanding over a “quickie”.
This was heard when Chrispen Mhlanga appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa facing a charge of assault.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded to tomorrow for sentencing.
The court heard that on 5 February 2023 and at around 2.30am at the corner of Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Street and 1st Avenue, Mhlanga had a misunderstanding with a sex worker whom he wanted to hire for a short- time romp.
It was, however, not mentioned in papers what exactly triggered the misunderstanding.
The court heard that at the height of the dispute, Mhlanga flew into a rage and brutally assaulted the commercial sex worker.
He assaulted her with fists and slaps all over her body before he knocked her down.
The woman sustained bruises all over the body as a result of the assault and she lost US$10 in the process.
The matter was reported to the police and investigations led to Mhlanga’s arrest.
