Man, stabs wife with kitchen knife.

IN a bid to save her three-year-old daughter who was being beaten by her father, a 26-year-old woman from Greenhill suburb in Bulawayo apparently got more than what she had bargained for when her husband turned against her and stabbed her with a kitchen knife on her right hand.

This came to light when Takudzwa Madzirashe (30) appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa facing two counts of physical abuse and assault.

He pleaded guilty to the two counts and was remanded to today for sentencing.

The court heard that on 14 February and at around 5am, Madzirashe came home and upon his arrival he attempted to awaken his daughter to no avail.

This angered Madzirashe who then slapped her. Seeing that her daughter was being assaulted Madzirasheโ€™s wife Listen Dube quickly took her to prevent her from being further assaulted.

This, however, didnโ€™t go down well with her husband who violently grabbed her before he pushed her against the wall.

As if that was not enough, Madzirashe went on to stab her once on the right arm before she managed to escape.

Dube went and reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of Madzirashe and she was referred to the hospital for treatment.
