Roseline Musekiwa (23) and Zanele Moyo (19) are the two Bulawayo models nominated to represent the City of Kings at the Zimbabwe Queen pageant which will take place on 23 April in Avondale, Harare.

The pageant was founded in 2022 by Farai Zembeni.

Other models who will do the catwalk at the pageant are Mitchel Chakauya, Courtney Gondo, Charmaine Makondo, Precious Sibanda, Counsellor Vurayai, Progress Madhibha, Dione Magondo, Adlaid Matutu, Shantel Kambamura and Kudzai Matizha.

Roseline Musekiwa said she was excited to be representing Bulawayo at national level.

โ€œI am excited that I made it this far, from top 30 and to be finally chosen to represent my city. I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the competitors and nervous at the same time because I know the girls are here to win,โ€ said Musekiwa.

Zanele Moyo said it was a dream come true for her to be among the 12 contestants for Zimbabwe Queen.

โ€œModelling has always been my dream since high school. I was the tallest in my class and seeing models on television motivated me to pursue my passion and career as a pageant model,โ€ said Moyo.

Founder and director of the Zimbabwe Queen, Farai Zembeni, said the pageant was founded with the purpose to empower young people through pageantry.

โ€œThe top 12 is set to light up the stage on 23 April, where they will be judged through face-to-face interviews, their authenticity as well as their ability to become national ambassadors,โ€ said Zembeni.

He said the crowned queen and her runner-ups would represent Zimbabwe in Poland and Vietnam later this year.
