Man sued for harassing clients and workers

A popular Bulawayo businessman has sued a man who was in the habit of insulting his clients and blocking them from buying at his shops.

The businessman Maxwell “Maunga” Tshuma who operates a  sports bar and butchery in Emakhandeni suburb applied for a peace order against Busani Dube claiming he was in the habit of visiting his business  premises and harassing his customers.

Tshuma claimed Dube who stays a stone’s throw from his business premises “ambushes” his customers who would be heading to or coming from his shop and blocks them leading to misunderstandings.

At the height of it, Dube would bash the clients and hurl insults at them.

According to Tshuma the troublesome Dube even harasses his workers and would storm into his business premises and insult them.

He said he reported him to the police who advised him to approach the courts for a solution.

Tshuma told the court that due to Dube’s violent behaviour he had lost quite a number of customers.

“The respondent has a habit of coming to my business premises and harassing my clients. He is also very violent as he insults them and he even beats them so as to make them shun my sports bar and butchery.

“When he comes to my bottle store he throws bottles all over the shop thereby forcing my clients to move out.

“As a result of that most of the customers are now avoiding my businesses,” claimed Tshuma.

In response Dube denied the allegations levelled against him.

“I have never beaten any of his clients,” he said.

The presiding magistrate Sikhethile Moyo granted Tshuma the peace order. Dube was ordered not to set foot at his (Tshuma) business premises.
