EX-Highlanders gaffer Mandla ‘Lulu” Mpofu continues to get charmed by his charges at Botswana Premier Soccer League outfit Masitaoka who last weekend thumped Security Systems 2-0 to take their points tally to 34, 12 behind log leaders Galaxy.
The result saw Masitaoka move into the top four bracket that also has second placed Gaborone United and Taurai Mangwiro’s Orapa United who sit on position three with 38 points.
In an interview from his base in Botswana, an overwhelmed Mpofu said: “I’m very much impressed. I didn’t expect them (players) to understand my philosophy as quickly as they have done at the same time getting positive results. I am a very proud coach.”
Mpofu is in his debut foreign coaching job. He joined Masitaoka mid last year after parting ways with Bosso.
In their next assignment scheduled for Saturday, Masitaoka will do duty against Rahman Gumbo’s Morupule Wanderers.
Wanderers are on position 12 with 19 points in a 16-member league.
