PSL action enters week two

CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) action enters round two on Saturday after a drama filled week one menu that has already seen Dynamos welfare manager, Richard Chihoro being summoned to appear before the PSL disciplinary committee.

Chihoro is set to answer to charges of misconduct following what he did during DeMbare’s match against Hwange at Barbourfields Stadium last Saturday.
During the match’s half-time break, Chihoro stormed onto the pitch with a water bottle and emptied its contents on the Mpilo End goal line which DeMbare attacked in the second stanza.

According to a statement released by PSL on Wednesday night, Chiworo will not be allowed in the DeMbare team bus, technical area or changing rooms until after the case has been heard at the league’s offices on 5 April.

This therefore means Dynamos will on Sunday do duty against Sheasham at National Sports Stadium without their “juju man” Chihoro.
Defending league champions FC Platinum have a date with Cranborne Bullets at Mandava Stadium. Mhondoro Stadium will be the venue between Ngezi Platinum Stars and CAPS United.

Chicken Inn play host to Shamva-based and free spending PSL new boys Simba Bhora in a match set for Luveve Stadium. Highlanders travel to Harare for a tie against unpredictable army side Black Rhinos.

Lloyd Mutasa’s GreenFuel will entertain Herentals at Gibbo Stadium, a venue that will provide the stage for a game between Manica Diamonds and Triangle.
Nation Dube and his Hwange charges will travel to Mhondoro to meet miracle boys Yadah FC.

The week two fixtures programme will conclude on Monday when ZPC Kariba lock horns with Bulawayo Chiefs at National Sports Stadium.
Meanwhile, week one menu produced six wins, three draws and two red cards. It was a weekend that had a total of 11 goals with defending champions FC Platinum and CAPS United being the two clubs that managed to score over one goal.

Platinum came from behind to edge PSL newbies Simba Bhora 2-1 while in a true statement of intent Makepekepe dismissed Jairos Tapera’s mentored Manica Diamonds 2-0.

There were three home wins by Yadah, Triangle and CAPS United.

It was a season’s opener that produced three home losses (Simba Bhora 1-2 FC Platinum, Cranborne Bullets 0-1 Black Rhinos, Hwange 0-1 Dynamos), two goalless draws (Highlanders 0-0 ZPC Kariba, Sheasham 0-0 Chicken Inn) and one goal scoring stalemate between Bulawayo Chiefs and Ngezi Platinum Stars who drew one all.

Simba Bhora were the only newboys that managed to find the back of the net with Sheasham, Green Fuel and PSL returnees Hwange failing to score.

A total of nine clubs Sheasham, Chicken Inn, Hwange, Highlanders, ZPC Kariba, Manica Diamonds , Herentals, Cranborne Bullets and Chisumbanje based Green Fuel failed to score in opening week fixtures.

It was a week one fixtures programme that saw two players Tafadzwa Kutinyu of Chicken Inn and CAPS United’s Thulani Joseph being given red cards.
Kutinyu and Joseph will not be available for their clubs’ Week Two and Week three fixtures.
