FORMER Caps United and Warriors left back Ronald Pfumbidzai will be donning the SuperSport United jersey very soon after he signed a pre-contract with the DStv Premiership side.
According to South African media, the defender and SuperSport United have agreed terms in principle over the deal.
Pfumbidzai plays for Chippa United. The move to SuperSport United has been necessitated by the imminent departure of Thatoyaone Ditlhokwe to rivals Kaizer Chiefs, while fellow Zimbabwean Onismor Bhasera is on the verge of retirement.
Bhasera will hang up his boots at the end of the current season.
Pulling a hasty deal to bring Pfumbidzai to the Pretoria-based side marks another shrewd piece of business from CEO Stan Matthews and head coach Gavin Hunt as they look to bolster their squad in his second season at the club, thatโs brought a new sense of optimism to the team.
SuperSport United sit in second place in the league going into the final seven games of the 2022/23 season.
Pfumbidzai is said to have signed a three-year deal.
Hunt has fielded the likes of Neo Rapoo and Thapelo Maseko as makeshift defenders this season when Bhasera was not available for selection, making that role one of the priority additions for next season.
And the 28-year-old will arrive with vast experience of the DStv Premiership and international experience with the Warriors as they look to hit the ground running.
