United Kingdom-based songstress Joy Rukanza is excited after being nominated for two awards at this year’s Zimbabwe Achievers Awards UK, which are slated for 22 April in London.
Global remittance giant WorldRemit has been confirmed as a “Platinum Partner” for the forthcoming edition of the awards.
Joy Rukanza is nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Music — Female against Hazel Mak, Valeree and Blessing Annatoria Chitapa.
For Professional of the Year, she is nominated with Prof Caroline Makaka, Tadiwa Mubvumbi CA, Farai Mwashita, Belvin Tawuya and Portia Mushambi.
From her base in the UK, the Queendom hit maker said she was happy for the nominations.
“I am beyond elated to be nominated for the 2023 Zimbabwe Achievers Awards. It is my first time being nominated.
“As a newcomer who is still trying to navigate her path in the professional music space, such a nod is extremely encouraging, especially because the world of creative expression is full of ups and down.
“It shows that the world is listening and excited by what I have done so far, which is very humbling.
“This just came at the right time and it will give me the boost that I need to confidently introduce the world to my debut album MatterMoreForSis, which is scheduled for release during the second quarter of this year,” said Joy Rukanza.
The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards is a global leading, independent organisation that was founded in 2010 by Conrad Mwanza.
