A WOMAN from Northend suburb in Bulawayo has been arrested for allegedly selling dagga at her house.

Detectives from Drugs and Narcotics Section received a tip-off from one of the concerned residents that the woman Tsitsi Similo Tafirenyika (55) was selling mbanje at her house.

It was also alleged that she was selling it to school children.

The detectives raided her home shortly after 11.30pm on Sunday.

They identified themselves and then asked to search her house and she gave them a go ahead.

ย โ€œAs they searched it they stumbled on 27 sachets of mbanje which were hidden under the sofa and they also discovered 21 sachets of mbanje seeds which were hidden inside the wardrobe,โ€ said the source.

When Detectives quizzed her about the source of her illegal stock she revealed that she ordered it from South Africa.

The sachets weighed 1,33kg with an estimated street value of $25 000.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.

Tafirenyika is set to appear in court.
