Boy in court for teen neighbour murder

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy from Bulawayo’s Cowdray Park suburb who is accused of allegedly murdering his 15-year-old neighbour in a fight over marbles has appeared in court.

The boy appeared this week on Wednesday before Western Commonange Court regional magistrate Sibongile Msipa-Marondedze facing a murder charge.

He was not asked to plead. He was remanded in custody until next Thursday.

It is alleged the now deceased 15-year-old teen boy was playing with marbles with his friends and things however, turned horribly wrong for him when he won.

It is said while celebrating the 16-year-old boy picked up a brick and allegedly struck him several times on the head.
He fell to the ground and bled profusely.

One of the deceased’s friends reportedly rushed to his home and informed his parents who rushed to the scene and within a few minutes they phoned an ambulance which arrived and rushed him to Mpilo Central Hospital for medical attention.

He died a few hours after he was admitted to the hospital.
The incident was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the boy.
