IT was a busy five days at the 63rd edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), undoubtedly business deals were sealed,  business opportunities were identified, networks were created and above all people that thronged the trade expo were entertained.

Just like in the previous years, at different stands people were being engaged in different ways that included  music and dance competitions.

As a result, it was no wonder to see the young and old take to the dance floors to unleash different dance moves much to the amusement of wannabes and ordinary onlookers.

However, as opposed to playing contemporary music as a way of engaging the masses, the powers-that -be at Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) had other thoughts.

Their idea of having four female Victory  Siyanqoba members sing and dance to local traditional songs right at the entrance of their ZITF  stand struck the right chord with many.

People were made to witness a five-star performance that was pancuated with melodious voices and nimble footedness.

And guess what, some local old ladies and men could not help but also take to the dance floor.

So energetic were the performer that people sought to outdo each other in anyway seeking to get freebies that included ZERA branded mugs, t-shirts,  water and juice bottles.

After all, we wonder who said traditional dance music and its dance moves are no longer charming?

It proved at Zimbabwe’s esteemed trade expo that Sungura, Rhumba, Amapiaono, House and Kwaito among other genres are yet to fully dominate the local music industry.
