Son kicks mum out of house

MARGRET Machacha is a stressed woman because her son Tinashe Machacha is kicking her out of her house that she bought with her late husband.

Margret said her son is always demanding that she vacates the house and relocates to rural areas.

Topping the list of his demands is that she should change the title deeds of the house from her name to his.

She claimed her son rants at her claiming that she does not own the house and it was owned by his late father.

Western Commonage Courts

She has been to the police on several occasions but her efforts have been in vain.

After her son threatened to stab her to death if she did not surrender the house to him, Margret applied for a protection order at the Western Commonage Court.

“I’m applying for protection against my son Tinashe. He is demanding that I vacate and surrender the house that I bought with my own savings. He threatens to knife me to death if I continue objecting to his demands.

“Therefore, I’m living in fear that he will end up killing me so that he would inherit my house. He even ill-treats my relatives when they visit me claiming that it is his own house,” her affidavit read in part.

She said her troublesome son also comes to her home in her absence and demands money from the tenants and squanders it on alcohol.

In response the son blamed his violent conduct on alcohol.

“I’m really sorry, I would be drunk and I promise I will never kick her out of her house,” he said.

The presiding magistrate Sikhethile Moyo granted Margret a protection order.

Tinashe was ordered not to chuck his mother out of her house and not threaten to kill her.
