VICTORIA FALLS is set to host its first-ever food and wine festival next year, celebrating the fusion of fine dining and world-class wines.
The Victoria Falls Food and Wine Fest, scheduled for May 22-25, will feature renowned personalities from the culinary and wine industries, including sommelier and winemaker Joseph Dhafana, wine distributor Albert Nhau, and executive chef Kimberly Chisiri, among others.

The festival, themed โ€œSavouring Victoria Falls: A Food and Wine Festivalโ€ aims to showcase the regionโ€™s rich culinary heritage and exceptional wine offerings.
Patrick Musonza, one of the event organisers, said the festival will attract foodies, wine enthusiasts, and tourists, boosting both the local economy and Victoria Fallsโ€™ reputation as a world-class destination.
โ€œThis event will celebrate the diverse culinary scene and wine industry of Victoria Falls, creating a platform for local chefs, restaurants, and wine producers to showcase their products,โ€ Musonza said.

Attendees can look forward to a wide variety of activities, including food and wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, wine-pairing sessions, live music, and art and craft exhibitions.
โ€œWe call on interested individuals and companies to join us in this ground-breaking initiative,โ€ said Musonza.

โ€œThe festival will provide an excellent opportunity for companies to showcase their products to a diverse audience, including food and beverage managers, procurement officials from hotels, lodges, and restaurants across Zimbabwe and the Kaza region.โ€
The first day of the event will be dedicated to trade and business networking, not open to the public. The remaining three days will be open to the public, offering an immersive experience of food, wine, and culture.

With a vision of enhancing Victoria Fallsโ€™ global appeal, the organisers are collaborating with the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry to bring this festival to life. โ€“ @mthabisi_mthire
