New Liverpool headache

AC MILAN is reportedly interested in signing Luis Diaz as a possible replacement for Rafael Leao, should the Portuguese winger end up leaving the San Siro.
Leao has emerged as one of the most exciting wingers in Europe in recent years and has been linked with a move to Spanish club Barcelona.
His departure would leave Milan needing a replacement on the left wing, and Anfield Watch claims that Diaz is viewed as a potential successor to Leao.

Diaz has been a regular fixture for Liverpool this term and is enjoying the best season of his Reds career, but he is reportedly demanding more than a double-your-money pay rise at Anfield to sign a new contract.
The Colombian’s current deal at Anfield runs until 2027, so there is no urgent need to table a renewal offer imminently, but Liverpool will be keen to avoid a repeat of the situation it currently finds itself in with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Diaz is one of the lowest earners in Liverpool’s first-team squad, currently taking home $69,000 per week, which is less than half of what Darwin Nunez earns and just over a third of what Federico Chiesa earns, according to Capology.
The former Porto attacker is said to want a wage hike to $158,000 a week, and it will be interesting to see whether Liverpool is willing to meet that demand considering the slow pace at which talks with more influential players than Diaz are progressing. – Liverpool.com
