GOSPEL sensation Vusa Mangena is set to launch his album, Khayalami on Christmas Eve, marking the culmination of over a year of anticipation and preparation.

Initially slated for launch on November 4, last year at Word of Life Auditorium in Bulawayo, the album debut faced an unexpected cancellation due to venue-related challenges. Now, Mangena is ready to make up for lost time with a spectacular launch event scheduled for December 24 at Scout Hall in Bulawayo.

The eight-track album features soul-stirring tracks, including the title track Khayalami, Ngixolele, Dwala Lami, Lulamisa, Ndini Uyu, Ngiyabonga Baba, Ngiyamthanda uJesu and Musandifure.

In an interview, Mangena explained the spiritual significance of the album, saying it has a message of hope and faith in eternal life.

โ€œKhayalami talks about the great home of the saints โ€“ Heaven. It reminds us that thereโ€™s a better place that our Father has prepared for us; a place where thereโ€™s no sorrow, no hunger, no stress, or the problems of this world. As He promised, He is preparing a home for us,โ€ said Mangena.

The album also features worship collaborations with talented singers such as Thandi Tinewo and Nkosi Heyman, as well as powerful praise songs.

Mangena reflected on the challenges he faced in finalising the project, noting obstacles only fuelled his determination to complete the album.

โ€œItโ€™s been a great experience writing and recording these songs, though there were many challenges along the way. However, I stayed focused and never gave up,โ€ he said.

Mangena urged fans to come in large numbers to pre-celebrate the birth of Jesus through music and worship.

โ€œWeโ€™re in the festive season where we celebrate the birth of Jesus, who died for our sins. This album seeks to honour and celebrate that. I encourage everyone to join us on Christmas Eve for a night of worship and joy,โ€ he added.

Looking ahead to 2025, Mangena hinted exciting collaborations with internationally acclaimed artistes, including Ayanda Shange from South Africa and members of Joyous Celebration.

โ€œNext year promises to be even more exciting, with projects that will take my music to greater heights,โ€ he concluded.
