ZIMBABWE’s Ambassador to Belarus, Ignatius Mudzimba and his family have launched the TaSaFA Scholarship Programme aimed at supporting vulnerable and disadvantage children in Mhangura.

Ambassador Mudzimba, who is also a renowned farmer, launched the programme last Friday at his TaSaFa Farm, Highbury Estates in Mhangura.

At least 30 children from Early Childhood Education Development (ECD) level to Grade Seven were provided with school fees, uniforms, stationery for the new school year starting on January 14, 2025 and food items.

The freedom fighter, Cde Mudzimba said the gesture was emanating from call from President Mnangagwa for people to help built their nation.

“I am a freedom fighter. I dropped from school at a tender age to join the struggle,” Ambassador Mudzimba said.

“I would want to continue sacrificing and working for my country, and post-independence, this is the little I can do to help disadvantaged children,” he said.

The scholarship targets primary learners whose foundation to education is critical. Many scholarships are targeted at supporting those pursuing Advanced Level and tertiary education.

TaSaFa is the name derived from the initials of Ambassador Mudzimba’s three children Tapiwa, Sandra and Fadzai.

The siblings who are all based in the United States of America, vowed to support their father’s vision.
