AFRICA holds a rich blend of cultures that attract interest from all over the world.

Artists have been key in sharing the true beauty of Africa, educating audiences about its people and ways of life.

Artists from Zimbabwe are gaining recognition internationally, proudly representing their roots through music.

The likes of Djembe Monks, Jah Prayzah and Tamy Moyo are making an impact around the world without losing their identity.

Now, Just Leo has joined this group with her debut video KUMM’AWA.

Speaking at the video launch in Harare’s Belgravia suburb, Just Leo shared her passion for African culture, despite language barriers.

“My heart is in Africa.

“I love the diversity of cultures and languages here. I might not speak them all, but I will learn to sing them,” she said.

She said KUMM’AWA is about her travels to the east, where she encountered beautiful women and was given a lot of respect.

“In the east, there is respect,” she added.

The video, directed and shot by Andy Cutta, takes viewers on a journey through the stunning Victoria Falls, showcasing both the natural beauty of the region and the diversity of women.

The video’s symbolic features reflect Zimbabwe’s rich culture, something that the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) values when selecting winners for its National Merit Awards (NAMAs).

Agga Nyabinde, Communications and Marketing Manager of NACZ, attended the launch and praised Just Leo for her work.

“The video has many elements that help showcase Zimbabwe’s image to the world.

“Congratulations, Just Leo, we support you and your efforts to take your craft to the next level,” Nyabinde said.
