BRIGHTON Ushendibaba, a renowned businessman and football administrator, has thrown his hat into the ring for a spot on the ZIFA board.
Ushendibaba, who also serves as director of Simba Bhora FC, expressed concerns about the neglect of junior football development in Zimbabwe, citing it as a significant gap in talent development.
In an exclusive interview with Post Sport, Ushendibaba outlined his vision:
“I possess a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the football fraternity. I am committed to introducing innovative solutions that will benefit players, clubs, and fans alike.”
Ushendibaba pointed to his successful leadership at Simba Bhora FC as a key motivation for seeking a ZIFA board position.
“At Simba Bhora, I have established a benchmark for professionalism, talent development, and community engagement. I aim to replicate this success at the national level,” he said.
“I am also committed to advancing the growth of football at all levels, from grassroots to national leagues. I do envision a well-structured, financially sustainable, and competitive football environment in Zimbabwe.”
As a dedicated football enthusiast, Ushendibaba has been running a Christian League since 2012, which, not only helps youths become superstars, but also serves as an anti-drug campaign and promotes football in Christianity.
His priority is to create opportunities for young players, coaches, and administrators to thrive in the sport.
Ushendibaba’s call to action is clear: he is urging councillors to vote for leaders who bring integrity, innovation, and dedication to the ZIFA Board.
He believes that entrusting the future of Zimbabwean football to individuals who have already made a tangible impact in the sport is crucial for its growth and success.
Ushendibaba emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent, stating: “Personally, I prioritise opportunities for young players, coaches, and administrators to thrive in the sport. This is a call to councillors to vote for a leader who brings integrity, innovation, and dedication to the ZIFA board. Let us entrust the future of Zimbabwean football to individuals who have already made a tangible impact in the sport.”
Mutare-based football administrator, Lloyd Chinawa endorsed Ushendibaba’s candidacy, highlighting his commitment to grassroots development. “Ushendibaba is a well-known and passionate advocate for football development. In fact, he is the ideal candidate for the ZIFA board, whose inclusion will undoubtedly benefit grassroots development.
