THE ongoing Zanu PF Matabeleland South inter-district meetings are expected to provide the provincial leadership with a comprehensive understanding of the party’s situation in the region.
This feedback will be crucial for mobilisation efforts and the formation of cells across the province. The Zanu PF leadership is conducting meetings across the province’s seven administrative districts to discuss resolutions from the 21st National Conference held in Bulawayo.
Speaking at one of the meetings, Zanu PF Matabeleland South provincial chairman, Cde Mangaliso Ndlovu, emphasised the importance of these engagements in keeping the leadership informed.
“We are here to provide feedback on the 162 resolutions from the 21st Annual National People’s Conference, particularly affirming our first resolution—requesting our President, Dr ED Mnangagwa, to lead the party and the Government until Vision 2030 is attained,” said Cde Ndlovu.
“We are representing you and, therefore, have a task to ensure that we were sent by you. We want to utilise this platform to find out the state of the party in this district and also learn where there is need for improvement and correction.”
Cde Ndlovu reiterated the leadership’s commitment to representing party members effectively.
“As your representatives, we have a duty to ensure the party remains strong. These meetings are an opportunity to understand the challenges faced during mobilisation and cell formation processes and to address areas needing improvement.”
Cde Ndlovu noted that the meetings aim to capture issues raised by grassroots members, including grievances and feedback on development programmes.
“Zanu PF is a people-centred party that delivers. We want to ensure that all policies and programmes are implemented correctly and benefit communities as intended”.
He urged district leaders to cascade these discussions to ward levels to ensure comprehensive coverage and engagement.
Cde Ndlovu highlighted the need for unity across the party’s three generations: the pioneers of the liberation struggle, the current leadership, and the future generation.
He said the current leadership seeks to unify and strengthen the party so that it remains intact for the future.
“Every member has a role to ensure the party emerges stronger, not weaker.”
Zanu PF Politburo member, Cde Richard Ndlovu, called on members to focus on mobilising new members and re-engaging those who have drifted away from the party.
“Every member has a role to ensure the party remains in power because of its role in liberating the country. Respect for leadership and rank is critical to achieving this,” he said.
