MOMBEYAORA,THE AMBITIOUSNEWBOYS INDIVISION ONE

Sports Reporter

SCOTTLAND might have graduated into the Premiership but there is a new threat to MWOS’ ambitions to play in the top-flight league – MOMBEYAORA FC.

It’s a funny name, right?

But, beyond its queer identity which, in English can be translated to a rotten cow, this is a serious and ambitious football club which want to shake the ZIFA Northern Region Division One soccer league.

The club have already roped in the services of veteran coach Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera as the head coach with the task to take them into the top-flight league at the first time of asking.

Saruchera has already started his pre-season training at Alex Sports Club while MWOS are also training in the same neighbourhood at Old Hararians Sports Club.

Cuthbert Chitima, who led Gunners to the domestic Premiership title as the owner of the club, is the chairman at Mombeyaora FC.

Officials at Scottland FC have been keen to stress that these are two different clubs which are on different missions.

However, sources have said they are sister clubs and they are part of a stable of clubs which also includes Mabvuku United, who will play in Division Two this year.

“I think watching their pre-season training one can easily see that this is just like the way Scottland started last year and it was on these same fields,” said an official of another Division One club, who watched yesterday’s training session.

“It’s too early but I can tell you that Division One will be explosive again this season.”
