BULAWAYO’S Amapiano and Afro-pop sensation, Pride Khangelani Mhlanga known by his stage name “Vele Vele,” has released his highly anticipated single, Thula Ma, a vibrant and soul-stirring track that encapsulates children’s heartfelt promises to their mothers.
This latest offering showcases Vele Vele’s exceptional compositional prowess and musical vibrancy.
As a rising star in the music industry, he is captivating Southern Africa with his unique sound and infectious energy, proudly signed under Passion Java Records.
In an interview with Sunday Life, Vele Vele shared his fascinating journey to becoming a music sensation.
Reflecting on his path, he said: “It’s been a wild ride! From hosting events to performing, I have finally found my true calling as Vele Vele — creating music that makes you want to move.”
“My transition from event hosting to music has been an incredible adventure. I have always been passionate about entertainment and now, I’m living my dream of producing music that resonates with people and gets them moving.
I’m dedicated to crafting energetic and infectious beats that spread joy and positivity,” he added.
He said what drives his creativity is inspiration from life’s experiences.
“Inspiration is all around me! Life’s experiences, love, the richness of African culture and even the unpredictable twists and turns of my own journey — everything fuels my creativity. My ideas are born from a blend of introspection, joy, observation and experimentation. It’s like crafting the perfect recipe for an unforgettable party in your ears.”
He elaborated on the meaning of his upcoming album set to be unveiled on 31 January 2025.
“Thula Ma is a powerful promise from us, the children, to our mothers that we have got this! We will keep fighting for a better tomorrow, working hard to create a brighter future for ourselves, our loved ones and our community,” Vele Vele said.
He further emphasised that, “the title Thula Ma is a battle cry of hope and resilience. It is a promise that we will rise above life’s challenges and that our struggles will ultimately lead to a better life for all of us.”
Vele Vele proudly shared the collaborative efforts behind his latest offering, revealing that he worked closely with platinum record sellers from South Africa, including the renowned DJ Ngwazi from Wanitwa Mos.
“This exciting collaboration also features the incredible vocal talents of Bless the Gentleman, the mastermind behind the hit single Sdakiwe Sbali. This dynamic fusion of creative energies promises to deliver an unforgettable musical experience,” he said.
