The City of Harare says it is taking proactive steps to improve service delivery and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
A crucial meeting of the Transformation Project Steering Committee was held at Town House on Wednesday to discuss strategies for achieving these goals.
The project’s primary objective is to overhaul existing service delivery systems and ensure that residents receive top-notch services in areas such as water provision, waste management, transportation, public safety and customer service.
By implementing a comprehensive transformation plan, the council aims to enhance its reputation and attract new residents and businesses.
The steering committee, chaired by Deputy Mayor Councillor Rose Muronda, comprised chairpersons of committees and council officials. Transformation consultant Kwanayi Kashangura is providing technical support on a voluntary basis.
To achieve this ambitious vision, the council has undertaken a series of strategic planning initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, departmental planning and formulation sessions.
The committee will now focus on identifying quick wins, consolidating plans, and prioritising key initiatives.
