PREPARATIONS for the sixth edition of the Bulawayo Shutdown gig to be held next month have gathered momentum with organisers this week releasing names of the local artistes and DJs that will share the stage with the headlining acts that are yet to be named.
The Bulawayo Shutdown gig that has been held annually since 2016 as the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) party is being organised by 2 Kings Entertainment and Harris Hotels and will be held at The Boundary.
Fast-rising tribal house artiste Fab G MshanakaGogo, DJ Mzoe, DJ Nospa and DJ Liz are some of the local artistes billed to support the yet-to-be-named headlining acts.
One of the event organisers, Jordan Dube, said they had included local artistes to give the show a local touch as well as give the artistes exposure on a stage featuring the yet-to-be-named renowned headlining acts.
โPreparations for the event are going well and so far we have released the names of some of the local artistes and DJs that are going to share the stage with the main acts that are going to headline the Bulawayo Shutdown gig.
โThe names of these major acts will be released once we have finalised with them. We have decided to include the local artistes so as to give the show a local touch as well as to give them (artistes) some exposure,โ said Dube.
He said they started preparing for the gig in January in order to try and improve the standards and also for Bulawayo to have an unforgettable experience.
