AmaPiano star Aymos tours Zimbabwe

ONE of South Africa’s finest male vocalists in the Amapiano genre, “Aymos” (real name Babili Shili), is set to make his first appearance in Zimbabwe this year. He will perform in three provinces from December 20 to 22.

The Amabhoza hitmaker will kick start his tour with a show at Palace Hotel in Bulawayo on 20 December. Dubbed the AmaPiano Craze, the gig will see Aymos sharing the stage with Zim Dancehall artiste Uncle Epatan and the multi-award-winning Gemini. DJs Keith, Ayaxx, Testoe and Flexxy will rotate on the decks.

On 21 December, Aymos will have a chance to see the beautiful landscape of Zimbabwe as he will travel by road to Matabeleland South’s Gwanda town for a performance at Phoenix Tshisanyama, where he will share the stage with the Kana Ndanyura hitmaker, Killer T.

The Gwanda event will be hosted by MC Freddy and Rick Flavour. Local artistes, Zagoe Radge and Bry Ezy will have a chance to showcase their overwhelming talents as they will also take to the stage. DJ Keith and DJ Virus will do duty on the decks.

Aymos will then conclude his tour on Unity Day (22 December) as he will travel to Kwekwe in Midlands for a performance at the newly opened joint Magic Box 2.

Dubbed 2024 Shutdown party, Aymos will clash on stage with Zim Dancehall artistes Hwindi President, Uncle Epatan as well as Urban Grooves maestro Kae Chaps. Gweru DJs, Skimboh and Tiff will also provide entertainment at the mega show as well as DJ Masterpiece, Tylax, Dreazy and MC Cally Bee.

Keith Ndiweni who is one of the organisers of the much anticipated tour said, they decided to bring Aymos down to Zimbabwe after realising his efforts and works on the AmaPiano scene, something that makes him outstanding and deserving to tour the country.

He said all is well for the tour to kick start, with Aymos expected to arrive at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo international airport at 4pm ahead of his Bulawayo gig.

“We have always delivered grand events in different places and for the festive season, we vowed to only stage massive events for our patrons to enjoy. This time around, we are bringing Aymos, a decorated AmaPiano artiste who is credited in bringing and familiarising soulfulness in the genre.

“Aymos has stayed consistent in the game with hits, which propelled him to stardom like Emcimbini with Kabza De Small and Samthing Soweto as well as Zaka. Even this year, he dished out hits through his Impilo album.

“He is one artiste who deserves to make this tour as his music is appealing to a number of AmaPiano and Afro Soul followers. The events on the tour are a must attend as Aymos promised to deliver a splendid performance,” said Ndiweni.
