Caps look to turn the tide

Raymond Jaravaza

CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe does not believe that history can repeat itself.

Not in football anyway as he has seen the impossible happen time and again in his long career both as a player and coach.

His philosophy is to deal with what is at stake at that particular moment, forget about what happened in the past and focus on the job at hand on that day.

Thatโ€™s because if he believed that history always repeats itself, then surely his Caps United has no chance against Chicken Inn on Sunday at the Barbourfields Stadium in match day six of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Chicken Inn

Last year Caps United lost both its league games against Chicken Inn โ€” both home and away in Harare (1-0) and Bulawayo (2-1).

โ€œFootball is about preparing for each and every single game as they (matches) come so we are not reading much into last yearโ€™s results against Chicken Inn.

โ€œItโ€™s a new season with its own expectations and we are going to Bulawayo to play our best game and come out with a positive result.

โ€œWe have a job to do in Bulawayo and that remains our focus,โ€ Chitembwe told B-Metro earlier in the week.
Unbeaten this season, but winless in their last four league meetings against Chicken Inn, visiting Caps United might want to make a big statement of their intentions this season when they face the Gamecocks.

Caps United

Itโ€™s a potential thriller and one of the biggest matches of the weekend in the league.
Caps United, who are the table toppers will be making their first visit to Bulawayo this season.

The Green Machine are on pole position having collected 11 points from their five opening encounters. Makepekepe are a point ahead of defending champions FC Platinum.

Chicken Inn, who have made it clear they are chasing the league title are on position nine with seven points.
