LET’S shut it down!
This has become the rallying cry as the countdown to the much-hyped sixth edition of the Bulawayo Shutdown show gets under way.
The Bulawayo shutdown gig that has been held annually since 2016 as the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) party is being organised by DTL Records and Harris Hotels.
South Africa’s Amapiano star lady DJ Lady Du, real name Duduzile Ngwenya, multi-talented hitmaker Setoki Mbatha aka DJ Stokie, renowned Zimbabwean dancehall artist Winky D are set to headline the gig to be held on 29 April at The Boundary.
Popular Zimdancehall disc jockeys, DJ Fantan and Levels, Sandra Ndebele, fast-rising tribal house artiste Fab G MshanakaGogo and Zimdancehall chanters Jah Signal, Bazooker and Pumacol are also going to share the stage with the headlining acts.
DJ Mzoe, DJ Nospa, DJ Liz and DJ Eugy will be in charge of the turntables.
In an interview one of the show organisers Jordan Dube, said his team was doing all the ground work to ensure the show lives to its billing, that is, to give the fans a show to remember.
“Everything is on track and running smoothly as the countdown to the gig gets under way. We are happy with the preparations and it’s all systems go as all artists on the line-up will be available.
“We are happy that all the artists on the line-up will be providing entertainment for those who would be attending the ZITF,” said Dube.He said they had included local artists to give the show a local touch as well as give the artists exposure.
Dube said they started preparing for the gig in January in order to try and improve the standards and also for Bulawayo and those who would be attending the ZITF to have an unforgettable experience.
