IN a heart-wrenching incident, three teenage boys, aged 16, 18 and 19, allegedly tied a 13-year-old girl to a tree before taking turns to sexually assault her.
This was heard when the three teenage boys appeared before a Chiredzi magistrate facing rape charges and were remanded in custody to 10 January.
The court heard that on 29 December 2024, the boys met the minor girl while she was walking home along a footpath.
When she saw them, she attempted to run away, but one of the boys tripped her and dragged her to a tree, where he tied her hands. Subsequently, they allegedly took turns to sexually assault her.
Following the gang rape, the boys went into hiding. The minor girl, who positively identified the boys, managed to free herself and returned home and informed her parents.
The matter was then reported to the police.
