A 33-YEAR-OLD man from Pumula South suburb brutally punched his 49-year-old wife and struck her with an unknown object on the face and head after she asked him why he was talking with girlfriends in her presence.
A source told B-Metro that Walter Ndebele came home at around 11pm from a beer binge on Thursday last week and found his wife Joyce Uranda already in bed and joined her.
“One of his girlfriends phoned him and he talked with her assuming that his wife was asleep but she was awake listening to every detail of the intimate conversation.”
“His wife boiled with anger and asked why he was disrespecting her. Instead of answering the question Walter decided to hit her with an object on the head and face.
“She sustained injuries to her face and head,” said the source.
Walter in a spirited bid to cover up his actions, counter-accused her of stealing his money before turning her into a punch bag.
Fearing for her life Uranda bolted out of the house to a police base.
Walter was arrested and appeared before Western Commonage court magistrate Shepherd Mnjanja facing physical abuse charges.
He pleaded guilty and was remanded out of custody to 13 February 2023 for sentencing.
