Award winning local AmaPiano and Kwaito superstar Mzistozz Mfanafuthi is pumped up for the much anticipated Scotts Maphuma gig slated for 18 January (Saturday) at Cosmopolitan VIP Lounge.
Maphuma — who is Mzansi’s man of the moment courtesy of his catchy AmaPiano songs and his signature chant Bathini Bona — will be in Zimbabwe for the first time and is expected to deliver a top-notch performance on his debut in Bulawayo.
Mzistozz Mfanafuthi who had a chance to share the stage with another top urban AmaPiano star Lee McKrazy in December, said he feels blessed always to be picked by the promoters to share the stage with some of AmaPiano’s greats.
“It’s definitely a pleasant thing for me to be among performers at Cosmopolitan for the Scotts Maphuma gig. I would like to believe that it’s also a great way to kick start the new year on a high note.
“I really have had the blessing of performing on many great platforms and sharing my gift alongside other great artistes which I am grateful for.
“Such chances help me stay relevant in the game and also allow me to stay true to myself, my brand and the love I have for the art. I believe the foundation of relevancy is consistency in my brand authenticity.
“As it is the first major gig for the year 2025 in Bulawayo, I believe the event will be electric in every way possible because AmaPiano isn’t just a genre but a lifestyle. So, it’s bound to be an ultimate buzz and my fans know wherever we go, we leave no crumbs, we deliver to the last drop and miss no beat,” said Mzistozz Mfanafuthi.
Mduduzi Mdlongwa of 3D Events who are the organisers of the show, said they are grateful for the love and support that the people from Bulawayo have shown towards the hyped show.
He said Maphuma was the man of the moment and they could not resist not bringing him to the city of Kings at his prime while he was still hot property.
“Cosmopolitan is one of the finest clubs in the city which promotes a vibrant lifestyle to its revellers, As such, there was a need for us to bring an artiste who will complement the VIP club and that is Scotts Maphuma. Despite the event happening in January, people have shown us love and appreciation shown through the selling of tickets, a sign that people love Scotts so much.
“At the show, we will have specials on different kinds of beverages so as to accommodate our loyal customers. We promise a splendid and organised show as we encourage people to come in numbers to dance and sing with their favourite AmaPiano star,” said Mdlongwa.
Maphuma will arrive in Bulawayo on the afternoon of the show, making it possible for his fans to catch up with him for lunch at either Zarah Lounge or East 68.
