After successfully releasing his much-anticipated album titled Kwamu Kwamu, Madlela Skhobokhobo is receiving a whole lot of flowers from those who admire his works, with Udonsi LwabaPostoli being the latest to honour Dlelas.
Udonsi LwabaPostoli are an emerging gospel group and they penned a song titled Madlela, which celebrates the life of the comedian-cum-Tshibilika musician and the efforts he has made in uplifting young artistes.
The leader of the group, Nqobani Siwela, said the song appreciates the works and efforts made by Madlela in uplifting the Bulawayo arts industry.
โThe song appreciates the works and efforts made by Madlela to uplift Bulawayo arts, his advice mostly to upcoming artistes like us. He encouraged us to promote our own identity, our native languages, so as to preserve our culture.
โThe song tells who Madlela is, what he is to the art industry of Bulawayo, and decorates him as a โkingโ in the making. It also showers him with praises that describe him as a multi-talented artiste,โ said Siwela.
Madlela is humbled by Udonsi LwabaPostoliโs love.
โI really appreciate what these guys have done for me, itโs such things that melt my heart. It almost makes me cry to be honest, to see young people taking their precious time and compose such a beautiful song about me. I am humbled,โ said Madlela.
Udonsi LwabaPostoli was formed in 2020 and it is led by Nqobani Siwela who got inspiration from South African muso Thulani Manana who sings Zion Gospel songs.
The group consists of 12 members, with the youngest member being a 12-year-old girl with Siwela (25) being the oldest.
Last year, the group released their first album which comprised eight songs.
The group has done a number of performances in Bulawayo with the major highlight being performing with Imbube ensemble Amaqaqa last year at Bulawayo Theatre.
They are set to perform as opening acts for Amaqaqaโs album launch on 27 May at the National Gallery in Bulawayo.
