Vision`s Slovakian coach Miroslav awaits permit

SOUTHERN Region Division One side Talen Vision’s chairman Elton Sinyosi has revealed that their newly appointed Slovakian head coach Miroslav Nemec still awaits his work permit.

Nemec was appointed Talen Vision head coach in March and his current absence owing to his yet to be sorted paperwork has seen the team being under the guidance of his assistants Golding Dube and Saul Ndlovu.

“We are making frantic efforts to get our coach’s work permit. We are thoroughly working on it at a time Golding Dube and Saul Ndlovu are currently in charge of the team. The team is training at Milton High School and last weekend we engaged in two friendly matches against Beitbridge-based Dulivhadzimu FC. We won the first match 5-0 and the second match ended nil all,” said Sinyosi.

Nemec, Dube and Ndlovu beat ex-Premier Soccer League coach Philani Mabhena, former Manica Diamonds coach Johannes Nhumwa and ex-Bantu Rovers and Black Mambas player Fortune “Fokoza” Ncube to assume their new roles at the Trukumb Mining-sponsored side.

The club also appointed Andrew Sidambe and Wonder Mpofu as their goalkeepers’ mentor and team manager respectively.
Mpofu previously worked in the same capacity with the now defunct Bantu Rovers.

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League

Highlanders Football Club Legend Gift Lunga (Jnr) has assumed the role of head coach at Talen Vision Academy where he will be assisted by Owen Butete.

The club parted ways with Lizwe Sweswe and his assistant Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda, who joined Premier League Outfit Bulawayo Chiefs and FC Platinum Royals as head coaches respectively.

The ambitious side also made some slight changes to their executive roping in Filabusi magistrate Abedinico Ndebele and Oliver Nkomo to assume the roles of board member legal and treasurer respectively.

Sinyosi is deputised by Ishmael Mandipedza. Thembelihle Moyo remained as the executive director.
Nkomo takes over the treasurer’s office which was previously held by the late Cecilia Malunga who died last year.

Mishon Tsabalaka was appointed secretary-general to succeed Banele Moyo who is now based in South Africa.
Xolani Banda is in the position of board member marketing and communication. Barbra Njanjari is ex Talen Vision board member marketing.

Milton High School headmaster Similo Ncube is now the team’s board member competitions.
Talen Vision have since accepted an invitation by the country’s football motherbody Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) to be part of the National Division One League.

Zifa Southern Region

Zifa is set to embark on creating a National Division One League amid revelations that the confederation will be made up of teams from the four regions — Northern, Central, Eastern and Southern — to make the second wrung which will feed into the Castle Lager Premiership Soccer League while the existing regional leagues would then continue as third-tier leagues, feeding the national league in a promotion-relegation system.

This league has reportedly been hanging since 2013.
In a statement dated 11 January, 2023, Zifa said: “The executive committee resolved to embark on the national Division League in line with Section 10 of the Zifa Constitution.

We are therefore inviting your top four clubs to join the inaugural league.”
The inaugural national division one league, which is set to start this season, will reportedly be made up of 16 teams.
Then under the guidance of Sweswe, Talen Vision finished the 2022 Southern Region Division One league on position three after playing second fiddle to eventual winners Hwange and ZPC Hwange who concluded as the league’s first runners-up.
