Bomber vows to smash opponent

AFTER a string of cancellations, Zimbabwe’s heavyweight boxer and mixed martial artist, Elvis “Bulawayo Bomber” Moyo, is gearing up for a highly anticipated clash against Antony Morel in the Extreme Fighting Championships (EFC) 122 on April 10 in South Africa.

Moyo’s eagerly awaited return to the ring comes on the heels of a cancelled bare-knuckle fight against Matunga Djikisa, originally scheduled for October 10 last year.

Undeterred by previous setbacks, Moyo is now more determined than ever to make a statement in the world of mixed martial arts.

“It’s been a rough road. One should know that commitment to training needs rewards. So after the bare-knuckle failure in October, I continued training, hoping to get a customer for December, then March.

“Finally, it’s April, signed and sealed, now I train inspired. I have a customer, and I am starting at the deep end which is super exciting. My opponent knows I am old school, so we’re going to smash each other properly. That’s going to be fun,” said Moyo.

Despite knowing little about his opponent, Moyo is confident of emerging victorious.

“I really do not know about the Frenchman. He is a bit of a novice with only five fights. I have to focus on executing my plan well. I will smash him. I’ll be super fit and just pummel him into submission.

“I have been waiting for this moment for what feels like an eternity. I am ready to put on a show and prove myself as a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division,” said Moyo.

He is aware of the challenges that lie ahead but is undaunted by the prospect of facing a relatively unknown opponent.

“I’m not worried about Morel’s skills or experience. I’m focused on my own game plan and executing it to perfection. I’m confident that I’ll emerge victorious.”

With his sights firmly set on victory, Moyo is training harder than ever to ensure he is in top physical condition for the fight.

“I’m leaving no stone unturned in my preparations. I’m pushing myself to the limit every day and I’m confident it will all pay off on April 10.” – @innocentskizoe
