2024 National Cup Clash registration begins

Registration of participants taking part in the annual National Cup Clash started on Friday at City Sports Centre in Harare.

Building on last year’s successful event where Mbida D drove away in a BMW after emerging as the overall winner, this year’s edition promises fireworks.

Event coordinator, Jack Radics, who is working closely with main sponsor Chipaz Chimbodza, said they are ready for the 2024 edition that is slated for December 21.

“We have begun preparing for the 2024 edition of the National Clash and the new king and queen will be crowned. It is a talent search show that we have been running over the years,” said Radics.

The popular Zimdancehall exponent said the contest is free and open to every talented Zimbabwean.

“We are putting up some logistics to ensure that we reach out to all talented chanters in Zimbabwe so that they are part of this event,” he said.

“It is not a Harare affair, it caters for everybody as the name of the contest suggests. These are some of the things we are doing as the Zimdancehall movement to fight drug and substance abuse.”

To ensure that the talent search show is credible, event organisers roped in reputable Zimdancehall scouts to preside over the contest.

“We are working with Godfatha Templeman, DJ Fydale, Etherton B and DJ Fantan in this programme,” he said.

“The quartet will help us in identifying potential candidates to compete but on the day of the show, fans are going to be the judges.

“What we only need from the four is guidance. We are also grateful to our main sponsor Chipaz Promotions for rallying behind us.”

Mbida D is the defending champion but he will not participate in this year’s edition
