VETERAN administrator Jonathan Mashingaidze has become the latest figure to depart from the 2024 Chibuku Super Cup champions, Dynamos, after the Harare giants decided against renewing his contract.
Mashingaidze joined Dynamos in December 2022, and his two-year contract expired on December 31, 2024. He joins former DeMbare assistant coach Joel Lupahla and analyst Ashley Ndebele on the departure list.
Dynamos confirmed they had โamicablyโโ parted ways with the former ZIFA chief executive officer, with Mashingaidze now only set to work with the Glamour Boys on a โneeds-basisโโ via consultancy. โFollowing the expiration of the contract of employment for the club Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jonathan Mashingaidze, on 31st December 2024, the two parties amicably agreed not to renew or extend the con-tract,โ wrote Dynamos.
โMashingaidze, who is a sports consultant, will be engaged on a needs basis to offer consultancy services by the club.
โDynamos Football Club would like to thank Mashingaidze for the services he rendered to the club during the subsistence of his contract. We wish him success in his sports consultancy field.โ Dynamos have also lost a number of key players, including the midfield trio of Tanaka Shandirwa, Donald Mudadi, and Emmanuel Ziocha. DeMbare have also suffered from the loss of skipper Frank Makarati, the foreign duo of Ghanaian Emmanuel Paga and Namibian Sadyney Urikhob. Winger Issa Sadiki has also left, while first-choice goalkeeper Martin Mapisa is also reported to be on the verge of leaving.
Despite the loss of some of his key players, Dynamos coach Lloyd Chigowe has been putting on a brave face.
He believes the Harare giants can still build another team that can compete in both the local Premiership and the 2025/2026 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
Dynamos will represent Zimbabwe in Africa for the second successive year after retaining the Chibuku Super Cup. Chigowe has so far recruited former Scottland, Yadah Stars, and CAPS United winger Leeroy Mavhunga.
The veteran coach has also brought in former Highlanders, Harare City, and Golden Eagles gaffer Mark Mathe to be his assistant.
Mathe replaces Joel Luphlahla, who left to join Simba Bhora. Ex-Zimbabwe and Dynamos star midfielder Ronald โGidizaโ Sibanda has also bounced at the Harare giants, where he has been roped in as team manager to replace Harry Lusengo.
