Former footballers, Artists in surprise Chikurubi Prison visit

INMATES at Chikurubi Maximum Prison had a time of their lives on Tuesday when they were treated to a surprise visit by former footballers and artists from across genres.
Former Dynamos great Justice Majabvi, Mika Chirikwawo and Tonderai Kapinde took time to mingle with the inmates and emphasise on the need for them to participate in sports to facilitate their quick and effective rehabilitation.
Speaking with the inmatesโ€™ Majabvi said engaging into sport will help them maintain good mental health.
โ€œPlaying games such as football works well in terms of mental health, you get to relieve yourselves of unnecessary stress,โ€ he said.
โ€œInstead of staying idle, it will be key to play and enjoy the game. The good thing about all this is that you have the playing field here and today we also brought soccer balls for you.
โ€œI see there is quite a number of teams here and unfortunately my club, Dynamos is not on the listโ€ฆ..I urge you guys to revive DeMbareโ€ฆwe will come back as the blue army and help make it happen.โ€
Artists likes Jah Prayzah, SehCalaz, Mbeu, DadzaD, Mathius Mhere, Simon Mutambi, Empress Masina, Kessia Masona also known as Muchaneta and Pondo among others also had conversations with the inmates and took time to entertain them.
