THE construction of a state-of-the-art medical care centre in Marondera, funded by the ZESA Pension Fund, is nearing completion.
The modern facility, which 95 percent complete, is designed to enhance healthcare delivery, ensuring residents have access to high-quality medical care.
On Wednesday, Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East Mr Tavabarira Kutamahufa, toured the construction site to assess progress.
He expressed satisfaction with the work accomplished so far and urged the facilityโs owners to incorporate green energy solutions into its operations.
Mr Kutamahufa said developments such as a medical centre significantly improve community livelihoods through enhanced healthcare services. He also called for more investors to consider opportunities in Mashonaland East province.
The construction of the medical centre has already created approximately 250 jobs for residents, with additional employment expected once the facility becomes operational in 2025.
Speaking during the tour, construction supervisor Mr Collen Mangwiro acknowledged the support from provincial leaders, noting their crucial role in overcoming challenges faced during the project.
The Medical Care Centre, set to be managed by CIMAS, will include various wards, a pharmacy, dental and surgical sections, treatment and observation rooms, as well as specialised maternity and theatre facilities.
It is anticipated to be fully operational by July 2025, providing a significant boost to the local economy.
