Four suspected armed robbers appeared before the Harare Regional Court on Tuesday after they allegedly invaded a Belvedere home and stole valuables.

Obert Mugodogori (30), Jemitiyas Magurira (25), Leeroy Sengere (23) and Fresh Marongere (20) appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mrs Marehwanazvo Gofa who advised them to apply for bail at the High Court.

They were ordered to return to court on November 4.

Prosecutor Ms Mercy Masamvi said on October 7 at around 2 am, the accused persons in the company of Petros Valentine Mutsveguri, who is already in custody, Koffi and Nhidza who are still at large, hatched a plan to rob the complainant.

They proceeded to his house along Westridge Road in Belvedere, Harare, and forced their way into his cabin.

While inside they manhandled the complainant and his workmate Christian Kamwara, tied their hands and legs with ropes and forced them to lie on the floor.

They ransacked the room and stole deformed bars, a 60-watt solar panel, an inverter, a battery, three smartphones, an iPad and US$150.

The gang loaded their loot in their getaway vehicle and drove away. They were arrested after investigations were carried out.
