Government has commissioned fire tenders for Redcliff Municipality, demonstrating how devolution funds are transforming communities for the better.
These fire-fighting trucks are part of the 133 fire tenders acquired from Belarus, facilitated by President Mnangagwa, through the use of devolution funds.
Since introduction in 2019, devolution funds have proven to be a game-changer across the country, enabling local authorities to enhance service delivery by bolstering their financial resources.
Minister of Energy and Power Development, July Moyo, who is also the MP for Redcliff, expressed the community’s excitement over this development, noting that the fire tenders will play a crucial role in protecting lives and property.
“I want to thank our visionary leader President Mnangagwa for the acquisition of such utility vehicles. As a constituency, we are fortunate to have these vehicles, which will be invaluable in combating fire outbreaks. We are indeed witnessing Vision 2030 in motion,” he stated.
Minister Moyo underscored the President’s commitment to the welfare of the people.
“Our properties are now safer with these fire tenders. This is significant progress for our area. We are very grateful to our President for always remembering us. His vision is clear; he is focused on development, and we are thriving under his leadership.”
Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Owen Ncube, reiterated the commitment of the Second Republic to implement life-changing programmes aligned with an inclusive development agenda.
“As we approach the conclusion of NDS (1) and the dawn of NDS (2) in 2026, I applaud the Second Republic for transforming the economy and improving livelihoods through bold and transformational programmes, despite ongoing challenges from illegal economic sanctions and misinformation,” he said.
He added that, “Innovation, modernisation, and industrialisation, along with a focus on public sector reforms, are key to reshaping Zimbabwe’s socio-economic landscape.”
