MANICA Diamonds defender, Tanaka Chisi is close to signing a two-year deal with Harare-based Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Herentals.
His contract with Manica Diamonds expires on December 31 and his camp decided not to renew it with the Mutare-based side.
Chisi joined the Gem Boys in 2023 and, despite efforts to keep one of their consistent performers, he opted for another new challenge.
His performances with his club earned him calls with the Warriors along the way and has proved to be a good prospect.
Herentals are set for a tactical recruitment as they seek to compete for the championship next year.
Speaking to Zimpapers Sports, a source close to the player revealed.
โChisi is set to join Herentals on a two-year-long contract. He believes he has given it all to Manica Diamonds where he has served diligently.
โThe club wanted him to stay but believes he needs a new challenge altogether as he seeks to develop himself further in a new environment.
โWe understand any player must seek new challenges and opportunities for personal growth. It is this pursuit of development and exploration of different roles that has led Chisi to decide to join Herentals.
โHerentals have already tabled their offer which the player has already agreed on and is set and ready to sign.โ
