Two cops up for assaulting ZACC Officers

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested two policemen based at Sakubva Police Station in Mutare on allegations of assault.

Sergeant Mduduzi Makina (39) and Constable Elliot Gava (42) allegedly manhandled and injured ZACC investigators who had arrested a police officer on allegations of bribery.

Circumstances are that on December 11, 2024, a ZACC investigations team was probing reports of bribery at a roadblock near Mutare Teachers College.

The ZACC investigators seized the roadblock declaration book as evidence but Sergeant Makina and Constable Gava manhandled them and seized the book.

The two will appear at the Mutare Magistrate Court today (Tuesday).
