A 14-YEAR marriage has collapsed after the wife dumped her husband and moved on to live with her lover last month.
Maidei Shoko walked out on her husband of 14 years, Clifford Bute, on December 5 last year.
She also abandoned her two kids.
Bute says she walked into the arms of her lover and they are now living together as husband and wife.
Bute, who stays in Chitungwiza, said he filed a missing person case at Makoni Police Station.
The couple is blessed with two children who are aged 14 and 12.
Sources said just before Maidei abandoned her husband, the two had fought over infidelity.
Maidei was not reachable when H-Metro tried to contact her. Sources said she is now using her new lover’s phone.
Clifford said he suspected Maidei was having an extra marital affair with two different men at the time they had an altercation.
He said Maidei always told him that he wanted a man who had money and a car.
“She called on January 3, this year, and begged for me not to call her,” he said.
Bute said it all started when Maidei got a job.
“I started to suspect something after she changed her behaviour.
“She could tell me to go outside our bedroom when she was changing.
“For a long time l tolerated her until I called her aunt and her grandmother so that they could sort out our differences.
“She chewed her sim cards when I wanted to flash her phone.”
He added.
“After the incident, l forgave her because I loved her but she did not change and, instead, she became worse.
“I once answered her phone and spoke to one of her boyfriends, acting like I was her uncle, that’s when she told me that she wanted someone with money and a car.
“We spent four months without having sex while she claimed that she was sick.
“For months we lived in the same house as siblings since she claimed she made a mistake when she married me.”
He said on December 5, he returned home to find out that Maidei had packed her stuff and left their children alone.
“Since then, l have been suffering from depression because i trusted my wife and later on she betrayed me because I don’t have a lot of money.
“If l can get another wife, l would like someone who will accept me the way l am and love me.”
