CHINHOYI City Council is installing some solar street lights in areas which have been hotspots of mugging.
Residents of late have been mugged and robbed, especially during the night, by robbers who target people coming from work, bars and nightclubs.
Ward 4 councillor, Ignatius Zvigadza commended the local authority for installing the solar lights.
โThis is a good step in the right direction. People are being mugged almost on a weekly basis and the installation of the solar lights will go a long way in protecting the residents from being mugged,โ said Zvigadza.
He said it was important to have all the hotspots covered by the lights.
โI hope and believe that the council will install the lights in all the hotspot areas in Chinhoyi, especially in high-density suburbs where mugging is rampant, โ said Zvigadza.
