FOR NADIA NAKAI, NOTHING WILL EVER BE THE SAME AGAIN

JOHANNESBURG. − Ghanaian singer Francine Nyanko Koffie, popularly known as Fantana, paid Nadia Nakai a visit on an episode of Young, Famous & African, where she hinted she thinks she may be pregnant.

While the two stars were talking, Fantana asked Nadia if she was okay and the Naaa Mean hitmaker responded saying she needed to go to therapy.

“It’s difficult, just maneuvering life, you know. Low-key I’m not fine, and I know I need to go to therapy. But I don’t see that happening any time soon… I just have too much to unpack,” said Nadia. In her confessional session, she revealed that she tells people she is fine because she doesn’t want them to worry.

“My person is gone. So, it’s difficult. After losing Kiernan I like to tell people that I’m fine because I don’t want to worry people. And I feel like I’m okay to a certain extent until I’m alone.”

South African actress Khanyi Mbau then came to Nadia’s place to check if she really was okay.

Nadia then broke down again as she explained that AKA’s mom, Lynn Forbes lived with her for a month so she wasn’t left alone.

Her friends would keep her on “suicide watch.”

“A lot of people don’t understand how I’m alone a lot of the time,” said Nadia.

“Kiernan’s mom literally lived with me for a month to just make sure I am not by myself. I couldn’t do it, I was on suicide watch and then there was the day where I actually was by myself. I realised that I can’t sit in this house I have to work.”

WHAT ELSE HAS NADIA SAID

“Kiernan was the first close person I’ve ever lost… his funeral was the first I’ve ever been to. So, this grieving process is quite new to me.

“The person I found comfort in and had conversations with was Bianca Naidoo. She has been quite instrumental in helping me deal with this pain because she knows how it feels to lose someone you loved who was a superstar (Bianca’s musician boyfriend Riky Rick died a year before AKA).

“Much like me, she had to deal with seeing and hearing Riky Rick everywhere. Confiding in her helped me quite a lot.

“I steal happy moments here and there which I’m truly grateful for. Life has been tough the past couple of month.” The South African/TimesLive
