AN 18-year-old student, who attained 15 points during his Advanced Level examinations and died on the day ZIMSEC released the results, had been diagnosed with blood cancer.

Lacere Masese, who attained 15 points in the ZIMSEC exams, didn’t even get a chance to collect his impressive results.

According to a close relative, Masese was diagnosed with blood cancer a day before his death at Kwekwe General Hospital.

He stayed in Mbizo in Kwekwe and was buried on the same day ZIMSEC released A-Level results.

He was a student at Manunure High School and was scored As in Computer Science, Pure Mathematics and Business Studies.

A close relative said Lacere was naturally gifted academically and demonstrated exceptional intelligence from a very young age.

He also passed his O-Level studies with flying colours.

According to his relatives who spoke to H-Metro, Lacere was a disciplined and hard-working student who was devoted to his studies.

They described him as a model student.

“Akabatwa blood cancer a day before ashaya so akanga aitwa transfer to Parirenyatwa Hospital ndipo paakabva ashaya kuseni.

“He was a quiet and friendly boy, both at school and at home.

“He loved all his relatives, and we were all equal to him.

“His death is a tragedy to us a family,” said the relative.
