DANCEHALL and reggae artist Gilan “Micropile” Chidede, has released a love song to ease his fans into the mood ahead of the arrival of the Month of Love this weekend.
Titled “Chipakura,” Micropile says it is an emotional love song conveying the overwhelming emotions that come with loving someone.
It has been released together with visuals.
Every year, many local artists join the world in commemorating Valentine’s Day by releasing some love songs.
It is celebrated on February 14 by lovers, friends and family.
Sunday will mark the first day of the Month of Love.
In an interview, Micropile said:
“People should normalise celebrating their lovers every day and not wait for a day that comes once in a year. This song was inspired by love.
“This year I’m looking forward to boosting my online presence, growing my social media followers and those on streaming platforms as well as releasing new music by putting out a certain number of singles, albums and receiving positive reviews from critics and fans.
“As an artist, I am looking forward to doing some collaborations with other great musicians and producers while experimenting with new sound and styles and trying out new genres, production or lyrical themes to stay creative and innovative.
“This year, I’m willing to do brand partnerships, collaborating with brand fashion designers or other artists mainly to create exclusive content and products.
“These contributions will help me to build a loyal fan base, establish my brand and for me to make a meaningful impact on the music industry,” he said.
Last year he participated on a Jamaican riddim titled ‘Cookies and Cream’, which was produced by Ras Blinga Records and Mc Dove Music.
