JOHANNESBURG. – Netflix’s “Young, Famous & African” has proven to be reality TV gold with the first two seasons winning awards and topping the streaming platform’s most-watched lists within hours of its release.
It’s no wonder fans cannot wait for the new season, which will again feature Zimbabwe-South African musician and television personality Nadia Nakai, to drop on Friday.
The streaming giant just dropped the first official trailer of the Saftas-winning unscripted series and if it’s anything to go by, fans are in for a roller-coaster ride of chaos within the circle of friends and foes.
According to a statement from Netflix, the eight episode series will pull back the curtains on fractured marriages, fragile friendships and fresh connections.
The statement read: “Old friends reconnect, and new faces join the ‘Young, Famous & African’ family, bringing more epic ups and downs than ever before.
“From make-ups to dramatic breakups, all set in the lap of luxury, the season delivers baddies, babies, and everything in between.”
Kefilwe Mabote, a popular South African content creator, Nollywood superstar Ini Edo and entrepreneur Shakib Lutaaya are set to shake up season 3.
Returning cast include Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz, Nigerian stylist Swanky Jerry, Nigerian actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari “The Boss Lady” Hassan and her husband, Shakib Lutaaya, Ghanaian-American singer Fantana and Namibian model and businessman, Luis Munana.
Nakai, DJ and radio host Naked DJ with his model partner, Kayleigh Schwark, are also part of the cast.
Actress and media personality Khanyi Mbau also features in the latest series.
Meanwhile, no mention has been made of sportscaster Andile Ncube’s return and fans are demanding answers.
On Instagram, @atukunda_precious asked: “Where is Andile and his women?”
Another fan, @m.i.m.i_o, commented: “No Andile, I just knew he was too cool for this show.”
@riiah_marie said: “I had to zoom in twice because where is Andile, the people want to know.” – IOL
