BIRMINGHAM-BASED rapper Tawana ‘Tawanamusic’ Macgrath has dropped a song dubbed ‘Enough’ in which he collaborates with South African artists.
He has combined forces with DJ Thuthuka Wandile Zindlovu, known as Dlala Thukzin, and Gundo Masakona, who is well-known as Gusba Banana.
The 16-year-old Zimbabwean artist is making considerable impact and he has been doing some charity work in Zimbabwe to support children with autism.
In an interview with H-Metro, Tawana said:
“So, I just went into the studio to work with Tukzen then Mizo and Gusba was there. We were just chilling as boys and then I came up with the chorus and Gusba jumped onto it.
“The weirdest thing is I couldn’t understand them and although they understood English they would speak back in Venda.
“But, it really didn’t matter because, in the studio we speak music, not English or Shona or Venda.
“Mizo then later heard the song and he was on fire wanting to jump on it too. After the song was finished, I then asked them to explain their bars.
“About my part, I am basically talking about how busy I have been flying around the world to pursue music.”
Tawana said he doesn’t have a girlfriend.
“I don’t actually have a girlfriend and I assumed she would not be happy with me being away at work.
“I thought she might want me to give her my world but could she give me my time?
“People can fall too deeply in love, they become delusional and lose focus of what’s important in life.
“I am not saying love is not important but it’s about striking a balance between love, work, family and friends.”
