UNITED KINGDOM-BASED gospel singer Matildah Makandiona Tekeshe is excited that she will be honoured at the Zimbabwe Community Trailblazers Awards tomorrow, just two days after launching her sixth album.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre.

This will be a double victory for her as she will also be celebrating the launch of her album ‘Shoko/The Word of God.’

Matildah will be receiving the Impactful Local Gospel Music Development (UK) award

“I am delighted that I will be honoured at the fifth edition of the prestigious ZCTA awards.

“According to the organisers, I am being recognised for my exceptional contribution to the development of gospel music in Zimbabwe and beyond.

“They also acknowledged my exceptional leadership, collaborations with various stakeholders, including musicians, producers, and promoters.

“These partnerships have helped to promote the development of gospel music in Zimbabwe,” she said.

She has inspired many for promoting the values of faith, hope and love.

“This album is my sixth project and I feel so much joy and peace that this message is now birthed and being preached in songs.

“It’s my desire that we continue to search for God through His word and that He continues to reveal and manifest His presence in our lives in greater depth.

“The album speaks about the word of God, which is a real gift. It is like water, it gives life. It carries healing. We need to drink the word of God, just like water.”

She added:

“The Word of God gives us hope. What makes me free is the word of God, that’s where my freedom is found. “The Word of God benefits us as children of God and allows us to enjoy healing, peace, joy, wisdom, salvation, righteousness and knowledge.”

She said this was just the beginning of her mission. I want to reach out to many people all over the world. I am focusing on the creative challenges of branding and the use of new technology to market and distribute my music.

“I am also focusing on producing more videos for most of my songs.I hosted a concert, ‘Festival of Praise’ in Zimbabwe in August 2019 featuring Mathias Mhere, Evangelist Mai Makenzi, Eleana Makombe, Nyasha Mutongwizo, Alpha Ngoni Gatsi and Alice Shumi Marandure.”
